One of the roles of the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) is to perform inspections and evaluations to help improve the IRS and TIGTA’s own programs. Recently, the oversight group published its “2023 Inspections and Evaluations Program Plan” to outline fiscal year 2023 priorities. One review (focusing on TIGTA’s expert witness program) is being carried over from 2022. New programs include queries into whether paper documents should support electronic transactions and a look at controls for mailing taxpayer information via private carriers. The plan also discusses TIGTA’s oversight of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. Read the plan: https://bit.ly/3UtDqiC   Call or visit our website for more information!  www.mjscpa.com/
