Proposed IRS rules would require group health plans and their insurers to disclose cost-sharing information. They would be required, upon request, to share information to participants, beneficiaries or enrollees (or their authorized representatives). This would include providing an estimate of individuals’ cost-sharing liability for covered items or services furnished by a provider. The plans and insurers would be required to make the info available on an Internet website or through non-Internet means, allowing individuals to get an estimate of their out-of-pocket expenses. The IRS says this would let individuals effectively shop for health plan items and services. (Prop REG-118378-19) Visit our website for more information! www.mjscpa.com/news/
