The IRS will hire thousands of auditors by September. This was announced at a New York University conference where IRS officials were speakers. President Biden and the House Appropriations Committee have submitted IRS budget increases for FY2022 that include $1.7 billion more than IRS received in FY2021. The co-commissioners of the IRS Small Business / Self-Employed Division and the commissioner of the Criminal Investigations Division said they plan to hire 1,300 field revenue officers, 400 tax compliance officers to conduct “in-person audits” and 518 automated collection phone representatives. They’ll focus on areas including fuel tax, syndicated conservation easements and employment taxes.  Call or visit our website for more information!  www.mjscpa.com/
